Before Isaiah Rolow, the brains behind Shutterings, moved across the country to Asheville he made one final album with old friends from his home: Orange County. With over 7 self-recorded albums under his belt, Rolow has long been hyperproductive and bursting with ideas; however, for this album he worked with his friends in the band Oversoul to produce a full band record featuring Ianey on bass and Michael on drums.

Filled with chiming guitars, latin rhythms, and psychedelic trap, this new album brings Rolow's virtuosity to the forefront without sacrificing melody and groove. Using the full capabilities of the studio, "Nothing Personal" brings together funky basslines, lush harmonies, and sensual rhythms. After months of hard work and a home-made companion album ("Making Contact"), this album next level for Shutterings and it's truly a fitting eulogy for Rolow's time in California.

The record is also a eulogy for Rolow's childhood friend, occasional collaborator, and inspiration: Adam Bretall. After passing in a truck accident, the songs on the album took on a much heavier significance and were re-worked with new ideas including samples of Adam playing. The final track, "Goodbye California" begins with Adam playing piano and the track is a fitting climax to an intensely personal and sensual album.

Rolow spent the year practicing and performing with Ianey and Michael, forming a cohesive unit that brought the hip-hop flavor and psychedelic rock grandiose to live shows. Their bond is evident on the album and captured in the grooves and riffs of "Nothing Personal". Despite leaving to move to the other side of the country, this album is a statement of love and loss for all the lives his music has touched...
